Books: Nature Discovery In My Backyard & Giveaway

Nature Discovery In My Backyard is the first book in a series of children's books by The Little Environmentalists, a company devoted to promoting environmental awareness, appreciation, knowledge, and stewardship . This book is designed for preschoolers and emerging readers as it follows a little girl as she discovers what is in her backyard when you just take the time to look. The little girl sees a butterfly fluttering by, hears a bluebird perched in a tree and feels the soft green grass beneath her. The pictures in this book are beautiful and my daughter loves pointing out the girl in each picture as I tell her what she sees. This book has become her favorite over Monster's Inc over the past few days and I couldn't be anymore happier.

Also, inside this book parents will find activities to do with their child during every season and ways to guide their children in learning about the nature around them. Nature Notes, found in the back of the book, is a great cheat sheet for parents to help the child understand leaves, the butterfly life cycle and more.

Made of 100% post-consumer waste and non-toxic toner, Nature Discovery In My Backyard is truly an environmentally friendly book that should be in every child's bookshelves. The Little Environmentalists plan to release their second book in the series, I'm Turning Green, sometime in the fall. For now, you can purchase Nature Discovery In My Backyard on Amazon for $6.95. What are you waiting for? Go get one and start teaching your little one about the environment! For more information on The Little Environmentalists please visit their website.
